Welcome to the Eastside Political Action Committee Website!

  • The Eastside Political Action Committee is dedicated to protecting and improving Charlotte East's quality of life. We ensure resources are distributed fairly and ensure public policy reflects the needs of Charlotte East.
  • We are an advocate for neighborhoods and businesses.
  • We are dedicated to revitalizing transit corridors, such as Independence Blvd. Albemarle Rd., Sharon Amity, Eastway Dr. and Central Ave.
  • We intend to accomplish our means by soliciting financial contributions, media outreach, holding public demonstrations, & facilitating conversations with elected officials.

Charlotte East Community Partners hosted an Arbor Day 2010 celebration at Eastway Specialty Park - Highlights:
- Tree dedication in honor of fallen officers Clark & Shelton
- Charlotte is awarded the "Tree City USA" award from the National Arbor Day Foundation for the 30th consecutrive year

CMS makes laysoff most teachers in staff in east Charlotte schools.
Most cuts in high school - Garinger
Most cuts in middle school - Eastway Midldle

Most cuts in elementary school - Albemarle Rd. Elementary
These schools are smaller schools, which means the teacher to student ratio will increase significantly for these schools and for k - 12 in east Charlotte. In addition schools in east Charlotte are taking a losing a disproportionate number of teachers comared to other regions of the city and county.

Eastland Mall - Core of mall has been purchased by Boxer Inc. Investor calls on city for partnership. Should city help redevelop eastland mall? Does the city have our best interests in mind?
